The 2023 Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGS) Annual Scientific Meeting will be held on November 17th and 18th at Rydges Melbourne, VIC. The meeting will bring together scientists, clinicians, and other professionals interested in human genetics from Australia and around the world.  

The meeting will feature a variety of plenary speakers, symposia, workshops, and poster presentations. The plenary speakers will include leading experts in the field of human genetics, and the symposia and workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including: 

• Genetic epidemiology: The study of how genes and the environment interact to influence disease risk 
• Genetic testing: The use of genetic information to diagnose or predict disease 
• Gene therapy: The use of genes to treat disease 
• Genetic counseling: The process of providing information and support to individuals and families who are affected by genetic disorders 

The meeting will also feature a poster session, where attendees can present their own research on human genetics. The poster session is a great opportunity for young scientists to network with more established researchers and to share their work.
